Social Nerdia is a blog about the convergence of technology + marketing + social media, and the people / sub-cultures making it possible.

Social Nerdia was created by Esteban Contreras in March of 2009 as a creative outlet. Esteban also hosts The Social Nerdia Show! (blogtalkradio live podcast) and has interviewed influential industry leaders from companies like Adobe, Seesmic, GM, Kodak, TechCrunch, Google, Relevant Magazine, Current TV, BusinessWeek, CP+B, Radian6, and more.

Esteban joined Samsung Electronics America as Social Media Manager in January of 2010. You can find Samsung across the social web, including facebook.com/samsungusa, twitter.com/samsungtweets, and youtube.com/samsungtweets.

Esteban previously worked as a technology and business consultant for Amdocs. He has also worked in the development of marketing and digital strategies for companies in the retail, automotive, fashion, non-profit, corporate real estate, and wine industries.

Originally from Guatemala, Esteban spent many years in Texas before moving to Jersey City where he now lives with his wife (who has contributed with posts and videos). Esteban and his wife have two awesome dogs called Choripan and Cupcake.

Esteban enjoys writing in 3rd person, playing soccer, eating chocolate, listening to music, and exploring the present and future of the real-time social web.
