randomtuesdays1In this 9th edition of the now widely loved and truly epic saga known as Random Tuesdays with Summer Rose, I (Summer Rose) ponder… education.

More specifically, I think about the unique challenges + groolness of “going back to school.” And yes, I do realize school started weeks ago. I’ve been busy and Tuesdays only happen 4 or 5 times a month :)

Keep tuning in for more Tuesday randomness!

Random Tuesdays with Summer RoseIn this 8th edition of Random Tuesdays with Summer Rose, I go to one of the coolest cities on Earth. Or at least just one of the coolest cities that I can drive to.  All I can say to you is that it is weird, and that weird is good and that weird must be kept weird. So there.

Oh, by the way, if you like the video (or don’t), please vote for the “Here Come All the Latino Bloggers” panel that’s up for consideration at SXSW Interactive 2010. The internets depend on your vote!

Don’t forget to check in next Tuesday because I might have a back-to-school special. Maybe.

diegoliathstop5_logo_socialnerdiaThese are Diegoliath’s Top 5 Movies of 2009. The “Creative In5piration” series is a showcase some of the things that can brighten your day and re-ignite your creative thinking. In this case, it’s all movies. Leave us a comment. Share your top 5 if you feel like it.

1. District 9
If you haven’t seen this please shut your computer down right now and head to the theaters because this is probably one of the best movies coming out this year, and probably one of the best movies you’ll see in a long time.  It’s been up in the Twitter trending topics since its release a week and a half ago, if that means anything.  What makes it even better is that it’s the first full-length film by new-comer director Neil Blomkamp (who was supposed to direct the Halo movie).

2. Where the Wild Things Are
Narnia and Domo Kun come together in what looks to be, like, the cutest film ever by Spike Jonze.

3. Inglorious Basterds
A war film by Quentin Tarantino. Enough said.

4. Zombie Land
Looks amazing and funny. I can’t wait to see Woody Harrelson come back from the dead, to fight the undead…

5. Paper Heart
Michael Cera plays the same character in every single movie he’s ever made. Paper Heart is no different.

Random Tuesdays with Summer RoseWelcome to the 7th edition of Random Tuesdays with Summer Rose. I’ve been wanting to do something around the idea of food as more than just something we eat. So I checked out an awesome local Japanese restaurant in Dallas, TX and concluded that yes, food is art.

Don’t forget to check in again every Tuesday for more fantabulous randomness.

And please don’t be shy! Leave a comment below with your thoughts. I know you have some.

Random Tuesdays with Summer RoseOk, it’s been a while since the last episode. I meant it when I said this would be a random video on a random Tuesday. Well, the wait is over! In this 6th video episode of Random Tuesdays, I ride the aisles of a supermarket the way it should be: Target-style with baby seals.

Deeply Intelligent, realistically optimistic, unapologetically forward-looking, and hopefully not too long, this video will make you cry, laugh, wonder, think, refresh, multi-task, re-evaluate your priorities, and find yourself amidst an identity crisis. All with a gigantic product placement from everyone’s favorite supertstore: Target. God bless them if they ever care to contact us for this semi viral video. The same goes for P&G, which makes Dawn (everybody’s favorite baby seal saving dish soap).

Oh and don’t forget to check in again every Tuesday for more randomness.

calilewis_geekbrief_socialnerdiaCali Lewis is the producer, writer and host of GeekBrief.TV, a video podcast about tech, consumer electronics, and web 2.0. An influential person in the tech community, Cali is also quite down to earth and recently did an awesome job as an organizer of WordCamp Dallas 2009, where I was able to ask her some questions.

In the two videos below, you’ll learn about Cali’s real (but not very googleable) name, her geeky roots, and her transition from self-storage manager to full-time video podcaster.

Cali also told me about having friends not “fans” (with one exception), the exciting future of AR and 4G networks, and the threat that bloggers pose to journalists. Cali is aware that “the internet is not going to wipe out TV, just like TV didn’t wipe out the radio, and the radio didn’t wipe out the newspaper“, but it’s clear that online productions of high quality like GeekBrief.TV are  transforming the way we watch and think of content on the web.

Random Tuesdays with Summer RoseIn this 3rd video episode of Random Tuesdays, I talk the talk and walk the walk. Clydesdale style!

Check out my past episodes and don’t forget to randomly check in again next Tuesday.

Who knows? Maybe I’ll have another random episode for ya.
