Ok, it’s been a while since the last episode. I meant it when I said this would be a random video on a random Tuesday. Well, the wait is over! In this 6th video episode of Random Tuesdays, I ride the aisles of a supermarket the way it should be: Target-style with baby seals.
Deeply Intelligent, realistically optimistic, unapologetically forward-looking, and hopefully not too long, this video will make you cry, laugh, wonder, think, refresh, multi-task, re-evaluate your priorities, and find yourself amidst an identity crisis. All with a gigantic product placement from everyone’s favorite supertstore: Target. God bless them if they ever care to contact us for this semi viral video. The same goes for P&G, which makes Dawn (everybody’s favorite baby seal saving dish soap).
Oh and don’t forget to check in again every Tuesday for more randomness.
In this 5th video episode of Random Tuesdays, I ponder on how Whole Foods makes us all better people. If you’ve never been to a Whole Foods, you should go. If you have been to one, but don’t think it makes you a better person, you should try going one more time. Regardless of who you are and where you’re coming from, you should check out the video below.
Oh and don’t forget to check in again next week for some more Tuesday randomness.
In this 4th video episode of Random Tuesdays, I head to a “Fiesta Bazaar” to talk about ”wristlets” and the misleadingness of the word ”extraordinary”.
Check out my past episodes and don’t forget to randomly check in again next Tuesday.
I had a one week hiatus for the 4th of July weekend, but who knows? Maybe I’ll have another random episode for ya next week.
I recently met 13-year-old Jackson Fall at WordCamp Dallas. Jackson might be young, but he doesn’t think like a kid when it comes to technology, business, and social media.
He not only has a video blog / podcast (at LivingDigitally.tv), but he’s also a freelance graphic and web designer. When I asked if he was going to start a business, he confidently answered “I have a business.”
Smart and driven, Jackson also told me that he is inspired by people like Cali Lewis, he loves Diggnation, and would like to work for a company like internet television network Revision3.
Here’s the short video interview, which includes his impromptu application to Revision3:
In this first episode of Random Tuesdays, Summer Rose (who likes to speak in 3rd person) brings up a very deep philosophical question about one of the world’s most popular pastries.
Don’t forget to check in again next Tuesday. Who knows? Maybe I’ll have another episode for ya. And if there are any topics you think I should cover, let yourself be known by leaving a comment.
Anyways.. here it is:
Twitter is everywhere. You can’t watch a news segment without hearing about Twitter at least once. The microblogging site/platform has taken off like crazy and it has gained many followers (no pun intended), as well as some harsh critics.
In its attempts to be more transparent, the U.S. government allows their web visitors to “Stay Connected” by including noticeable links to official government accounts on social sites like Twitter. In contrast, Twitter is one of many recently disabled sites in mainland China, ahead of tomorrow’s 20th anniversary of the bloody Tiananmen Square crackdown. It is obvious that these two governments have very different views and very different reasons for how and why they communicate with the public online.
Several companies are now widely cherished in the Twittersphere and even business leaders are opening up to it. In today’s “The Welch Way” BusinessWeek column, Jack and Suzy Welch provided their reasons for tweeting. Aptly titled “Why We Tweet“, it should be interesting even for the biggest skeptic to learn why one of the most widely recognized CEOs in American history is using Twitter and sticking with it.
From tweets coming from the womb and surgery tables (according this New York Times piece), to Forrester research analysts praising Twitter, everybody has a unique explanation. Twitter is indeed a simple tool, but the reasons behind its widespread appeal are as diverse as the people using it.
Here’s a video of people outside a restaurant in Dallas who told us why they tweet. Do us a huge favor and let us know why YOU tweet (by commenting below or sending us an email)!
